Position Information:
Foothill - De Anza Community College District is establishing a "pool" of qualified applications for the position of Part-time Online Equity Specialist. Assignments may require teaching lecture-discussion courses during day, evening or on Saturday and/or in an on-line/distance education format.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Applications will be screened by appropriate department representatives and will be filled on an as-needed basis. This is on-going recruitment, until otherwise noted and applications will remain on file for two (2) years from date received or last submitted.
Minimum Qualifications:
1Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
2Earned master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
NOTE: Official Transcripts verifying qualifications will be REQUIRED prior to an offer of employment. Applicants who have international transcripts must obtain transcripts that are evaluated by an independent educational-equivalency evaluation company and obtain an English translation (if necessary). These services are to be done at the applicant's expense. Both Foothill De Anza CCD employees and external candidates must submit transcripts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of critical issues of diversity and inclusion, including experiences with, but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) practices, the California Student Equity Plan, and professional development.
Experience developing course content and curriculum with a focus on online student equity issues.
Experience serving as subject matter expert (SME) while collaborating with instructional designers to build online courses for cultural responsive teaching and learning (CRTL) online courses.
Experience working closely with state initiatives such as 3CSN, focusing on the delivery of online training and regional presentations to instructional and non-instructional faculty regarding CRTL practices in the online learning environment.
Experience in collaborating and/or training various departments to implement culturally relevant pedagogy, practices, and learning environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the OEI Academic Affairs, Student Services and other appropriate departments to support the infusion of culturally relevant pedagogy and practices into the California Community College Distance Education programs.
Conduct Equity minded presentations both online and on the ground at various CCC campuses
Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
?Standard duties expected of all part-time faculty include the performance of instructional, counselor, or librarian duties as assigned; evaluation and assessment of student work; and timely submission of grades. In addition, part-time faculty are expected to participate in the assessment of their performance, including administrative and student evaluations. Part-time faculty may also have opportunities to participate in various campus and staff development activities and are encouraged to be involved in the larger College or District community. Part-time faculty may be eligible to receive additional assignments and participate in professional development events.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Use organizational skills that enable performance of duties in a timely fashion with attention to detail; effectively communicate orally and in writing; use personal computers utilizing typical office software applications, including the Internet;
Exercise good judgment;
Communicate effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
